Zoran Alajbeg (1961) is a Croatian photographer who was first drawn to his profession in 1978. From the very beginnings of his engagement with photography he has found his inspiration in the views and vistas of his native city of Split, its unique architecture and inhabitants, depicting them from uncommon perspectives, in a practically Romanticist way. Since 1992 he has been particularly to the fore as creator of photographs with motifs of the Croatian cultural and historical heritage, which are to be found in numerous art catalogues, monographs and periodicals. He is employed full-time as photographer in the Museum of Croatian Archaeological Monuments and also takes commissions from many other cultural institutions at home and abroad. He has shown his work at numbers of solo and collective exhibitions, particularly those that feature archaeology. He is a member of the Croatian Association of Artists of the Applied Arts and the Split branch of the Croatian Association of Artists. Zoran Alajbeg lives and works in Split.
